About PanOptix® IOL
Whether you have a cataract or choose to undergo a Refractive Lens Exchange, there are several trifocal IOLs available which will enable you to focus on objects in your near, intermediate and distance vision.
An IOL stands for ‘intraocular lens’, which simply means a lens that is implanted inside the eye.
What makes PanOptix® different to other trifocal IOLs?
PanOptix® IOL is designed to improve vision at the near, optimal intermediate and distance vision ranges to minimise your dependence on glasses.
Other trifocal IOLs are designed for an intermediate distance of 80 cm, whereas PanOptix® IOL trifocal lens is optimised for 60 cm. 60 cm has been demonstrated to be a more natural working distance based on the average person’s arm length.
An example of an intermediate distance could be using your computer, cooking or painting. Only the PanOptix® trifocal lens from Alcon® provides an intermediate focal length of 60 cm to allow for comfortable vision during these daily activities.
